On November 20th, 1989, the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Today, ADRA Albania is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of this important event in the community center of Fushë-Kruja. On this occasion, the children of the Roma community were made aware of their rights in an interactive manner.

“I have the right to have a bicycle”, as Gabriela stated, might not exactly be part of this most widely ratified human rights treaty. Yet, no words seem to better describe the intention of the convention.
This day serves as a reminder to us that still too many childhoods are cut short in Albania. As an essential component of all projects that ADRA is implementing in Albania since 1993, we are committed to continue working towards improving children’s welfare.
