An internship at ADRA is chance for students to make a difference in the world and put their passion to work.

Real life is hard.  But then again, so is completing a four-year degree. If you can do that, you can do just about anything—like helping us to change the world, one life at a time. Our interns are ambitious, talented undergraduate and graduate students interested in contributing to the mission of ADRA.

US Office Internships

Our US internships are based in Silver Spring, Maryland and generally run between three months to one year. Internships are offered in a range of departments, including programs, emergency management, business development, and marketing and development.

Qualifications

  • Completed bachelors degree in related field
  • Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder or have a current work permit authorizing work in the United States.
  • A member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Ability to work 20 to 38 hours per week
  • Strong academic achievement

Field Internships – Long-term

Our field internships offer graduate students one year of intense, practical experience in the humanitarian aid, NGO industry. For the first month, Field Interns receive an orientation at our office in Silver Spring, Maryland, learning about ADRA’s programs and technical expertise. Depending on the skills, experience and interest of the candidate, Field Interns will spend nine months at one or two field offices in Asia, Africa or Latin America. For the last two months the intern will return to the Silver Spring office for a de-briefing.
