ADRA Dominican Republic
Serving the local population since 1991

The Dominican Republic faces many challenges. With 20% of its population living in extreme poverty, 2 million individuals try to survive on less than $2 a day. These impoverished conditions restrict children’s ability to go to school. As a result 12% of the population is illiterate. Additionally, the rainy season leaves many families displaced and the Dominican Republic’s water sources contaminated.
