International Volunteer Day
5 December is celebrated each year as International Volunteer Day (IVD) which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. The aim of this day is to provide volunteer organisations and individual volunteers with the opportunity to raise the public awareness of their contributions to economic and social development at local, national and international levels.
This year, ADRA Albania has celebrated this day with 13 volunteers who were involved in raising awareness about the living conditions and health situations of Roma communities living in the souranding of Tirana. Our volunteers try to achieve this objective by distributing information about Rom community and involving the citizens in buying basic medicines which will be distributed by the mobile clinic team in the following weeks.
